Biography: |
| | Born on the Island of Malta in the Mediterranean, Mary Ann came to Canada in the late seventies. Her passion at that time was painting and wood carving, and friends and family acquired most of her artwork.
In the early nineties a friend challenged her to take up photography, and handed her a point and shoot camera which accompanied her on her first trip to B.C.
Seeing B.C from behind a camera lens fueled her appetite for exploring the art of photography and on her return to Ontario, she bought a second hand camera and some lenses. She then enrolled in Photographic Studies at the Sheridan College Campus and Ryerson University in Toronto. Mary Ann also attended a number of workshops at various studios for B&W and colour printing.
Mary Ann moved to British Columbia in 1998 and now resides in Maple Ridge. |
